How to view the jetstream in Windy.com
On the wind layer, adjust the altitude to 250-300 & bingo.

Why bother? Well it's the driver for UK weather and may help with passage planning.

On Sail Scene, Windy will be on every Marina & Anchorage page, set to their specific Lat/Long coordinates

Bluesky Feed
Made a Sailing feed on Surf Social, got stuck into a Blento site thingy on Atmosphere. Need to be doing boatwork- new bilge pump & Seacock install, engine screaming for attention but rubbish weather again. Really, really need to get some actual proper income type work done, yet here I am

Watching this great #sailing story with a stupid grin all over my mug.
Talk about belief, courage & perseverance
β€œThe Weekend Sailor-The story of the first crewed sailing race around the world in 1974. The most demanding sailing quest in history. Superb viewing

So I just migrated from Bluesky to #Eurosky
I'm not sure what I expected but I hoped for a more European centric experience- Seems the same gig.
Surf social changed but when I tried to post, nothing, even though the changes seem to have taken effect.
Did I just share all this data for zero benefit?
Wow. Sailors should get into this... especially in the UK, the land of perpetual rain. When to market and when affordable?

Gotta say, the #sailing industry is chock full of charlatans & half qualified muppets extorting people. But... Every now n then you come across an absolute diamond. To the fella who helped install our engine yesterday (who wants to remain anonymous) Sir, you are a legend & I can't thank you enough
Morning all, survived another night on planet Earth, glad you did too.
We made a
#sailing feed on Surf Social & aren't we chuffed with our little selves.
Sailing is Life- Please form an orderly queue.
If you haven't got Surf yet to view your Bluesky, Mastodon etc then I dunno what to say
surf.social
This is neat & might have legs. Deserves a try. Searched sailing and kerching- Bluesky & Mastodon (our social haunts) plus rss stuff from all over the shop. Kinda just made socials instantly better.
Flipboard just launched Surf, its new social app and feed reader

We found a handy use case for AI and we're playing with Mistrel on our, still in development site... Y'know, in case you have engine trouble or forget how to tie a truckers hitch.
European based and definitely not Musk garbage... Nor co-opted by butchers

SpaceX just paid like $250B for this POS that now has to be rebooted.
Well... Today's plans went T**ts up... On a positive note we did manage to install an AI chatbot to mess about with on the site.
We chose Mistral btw to support an EU company. I can confirm, it can tell you how to tie a bowline. Also says Sail Scene has Btitish Charm in an overview Ohkaayy

We just installed Windy Weather on our site. Each Marina, Anchorage and Sailing School page will feature it to give detailed weather for their specific locale
When we say we're building the most comprehensive sailing website we mean properly mean it. Coming along nicely... Onwards

One of the chats we've been having about our new sailing website is Should we turn it into a PWA so it can work offline? Getting the info we will offer while at sea & out of range could be invaluable, ie detailed marina info or access to the forums.
So, we thought we'd ask you... Thoughts?
